Card decks are having a moment right now. I see them everywhere– Instagram stories, advertisements popups, and small boutiques. Cards are a clever way to share and gather information. Compared to books, cards are less daunting, time consuming, and overwhelming. You might not have the energy to skim through a book, but shuffle through a deck of cards? Done, easy, no problem. They’re approachable and accessible and we 👏 love 👏 that 👏.

I’m writing a post at this very second about how therapists, teachers, and parents can use cards to facilitate self-reflection in groups. Individuals (like you, the person reading this!) can use card decks to think about things differently and learn more about yourself. Keep an eye out for that post in the future!

Here are two quick ideas for using card decks in your every day life:

  1. Integrate cards into your morning or night routine. Pull a card and respond to the prompt in your preferred way: meditation, journaling, or art making.
  2. Use the cards as a stress tolerance technique when you feel anxious or sad. Cards can be used to ground yourself, distract yourself, and inspire yourself!
